Ullo.... that looks like our study carpet in there	Oooh! Dead lead pipe!	More dead lead pipe!
Hurrah!! We are attached to the proper lead-free main at last.	Shiny new outside tap	Lead pipe to upstairs now replaced with shiny new copper

Didn't need to worry about the carpet getting dirty then ;-)
