Match Report

Lost the toss. Wanted to bowl first. The wicket was a bit wet and it was very cloudy. Thought the 4 seamers I had would do a bit. Think 180 - 200 would be competetive. As it turned out, our 155 was plenty, although I didn't think as much at tea!

After the loss of two wickets inside the first myself and Ozzie put on 40 hard runs together. I fell for 37 2 balls after drinks and when Oz (40) was 6th out, we only had 110 on the board. Some good late blows from O'Toole and a 20 run last wicket partnership between Tom and Les.

Bowling was a marked improvement on last week. Les bowling tight as usual into a brisk head wind, his 3-19 from 9 allowed Matt McKeever do the real damage. Bowling quick inswingers that their batsmen weren't sure what to do with. They tried to hit him, failed! Tried to block/leave him, failed! 6-48 from 10 overs was a great effort. With Jason getting his May wicket, it was nice to still have Sean and Tom to come on if wickets were not taken early. Hopefully our batting will click next week to put the bowlers under a little less pressure.

Bondy
