Match Report

Remembering last year, when the wicket was as green as the outfield, already knew I wanted to bowl first. Toss lost! Put in, batting was very tough. Losing 3 early wickets with a rain break in between. Mike Clinch's 25 was worth double and with Matt's typical quick 24 helped push our score to 139-9 from 45 overs.

The rain break ment they had to chase 123 from 36 overs. Getting off to a flier, 53-2 from 10 overs. Les particularly struggling with a run up that went up and down at least 4 times. Decided to bring myself on. Inspired! The slower you bowled, the harder it was. After getting my first, their captain was the big scalp. Lokking afraid to get out, I dished him up one of my half trackers which he duly hit straight back at me! By this time, Matty and I were bowling well in tandem and they only scored at 1 run an over for the next 10 overs. Matty again bowled superb (12-2-36-3), myself finishing with a maiden league 5 for (9.2-2-24-5) and Tom getting a wicket at the end. Bowling them out for just 89 was a great effort for the second week running. Still waiting for the batting to fire!

Bondy
