Match Report

Jason won the toss and we batted.

It was overcast and muggy so the ball did swing around a bit.

Oz and PJ opened up and looked quite solid agaisnt a good young opening bowler.

PJ went first bowled. Sam Freemantle looked to continue his form from mid week but was unlucky to be given out lbw trying to sweep the old offspinner, who finished with 2 for 5 of his twelve overs. Next in and out were the two big guns Clinchy and Matt Mckeever, both went cheaply prob need a good net to get into some form. I was in next with Oz still up the other end. Me and Oz managed to steady things for awhile not scoring many runs though. Oz then tried to push it on and was caught. Jason followed quickly lbw to the young spinner. Joey come in and played himself in before hitting a few shots and making me run to many threes !!. The opening bowler come back on and in his first over we managed to get after him. He then bowled me with a straight one. Dan followed soon after. Joe was next out with keith being running out soon after. With 4 overs still to go what might a few extra runs have been worth. 126 all out.

Joe and Les opened the bowling both getting into there stride straight away. First wicket to Joe and apart from a couple of leg side 4 byes runs were hard to come by. Matt took over from Les and took a wicket in his first over at 20 for 3 we had a chance. Then there number 4 a young unassuming lad smashed Matt around the ground and got to his 50 with 80 on the board. Jason swapped the bowling around to try and change things and wickets started to fall. The big hitter was caught on the boundary by PJ and jason bowled there young spinner first ball.It really seemed liked they were going to throw it away. Keith and Jason bowled well and all the fielders played there part, but In the end it wasnt to be there opening bowler hit Keith for six to win the game by 2 wkts.

A good bowling and fielding display let down by some very poor batting. Welldone Keith on first 5 for.
