Match Report

It was a must win game, as they were the only bottom 4 club which had a chance of catching us, possible dragging us into relegation problems.

Jason won the toss and batted 1st. On a good track our score of 169 all out wasn't enough easily 50+ short of what we really needed. It was a case of a few too many loose shots and lack of concertration at bad times, every time we rebuilt and got a little partnership going we lost wickets. It was dissapointing as all the bats looked in good nick but no one could get that big score which would have transformed our inning. Flowers, Clinch & Danny O all scored good little knocks.

We all knew what we had to do when we went out to field, fight and scrap for every run. We bowled well at the start but found ourselves starring down the barrel as they reached 95-2 off around 25 overs, but then on came the spinners and changed the game! Jason, Dave & Danny O were brilliant! all ending up with wickets Dan collecting 4. We ended up bowling them out for around 150 with Matt coming back on to mop up the tail at the end. It was another game when the bowling & fielding saved the day, but some very happy faces at the end of the day and safe for this season, so we can build for next year.
