Match Report
On a nice sunny day at without doubt the best ground we have played on this season Greg led his boys to a famous victory over another 2nd XI.
Winning the toss Greg elected to field on a good looking wicket. The Dr came down the hill with Fraz joining him at the other end. Good bowling throughout the innings saw wickets fall at a steady rate. The fielding was much improved from last week, Greg back to his best behind the stumps making all the difference. Calmore ended on 137 hard to pick out the best bowler but young Fraz had his best spell of the season taking 3 wickets.
Nice tea spent watching the test match, we need to get Sky Rob.
Ian and Fraz opened up against their young left armer who has played most of the season in the 1sts. Steady start until Fraz was superbly caught at short cover. Next came the winning partnership between Ian and yours truly. Calmore it has to be said didn't help themselves dropping both of us twice. With some lusty blows and the odd 'quick single' we took the score past 100 before I dragged one on [37] and then Ian left one that turned [50], was there to be a final twist? Not this time: Greg did manage to run himself out but Oz and the chairman saw us home with 5 overs to spare.
Probably our best all round performance of the season saw us get 24 points and with Calmore only picking up 6 sets things up nicely for next week, it's still on.
