Match Report

On a very overcast day Mike won the toss and put Hamble in.

Hamble had drafted in a couple of their second teamers as their game was called off and started steadily against young Fraser and Ian Street. With the score in the 30s myself and Rich Azar came on. My third over saw Stu Raddon catch their opening bat off his head and my bowling. Rich Azar then grabbed 3 wkts in a short space of time and with 2 more from me Hamble were suddenly 70 odd for 6. Ollie Challis then replaced me and with Rich shared the last four between them, Rich unlucky to end with only 5 for 41.

Rob Cooper and Stu Raddon then opened against the weakest attack we have yet faced this season. Both players found runs very easy to come by as the opposition bowlers fed Rob and Stu long hops and full tosses galore. Hamble started to moan about Rob Cooper playing too low but I found this ironic from a side playing a bloke who scored 70 for Hamble's 2nd team at the start of the season. Before 20 overs were up Stu and Rob had completed the run chase with no wickets down.

After last week's great win at Gosport this made it back to back wins and a full 24 pts, roll on Portchester.

Mark Callow
