Match Report
The U15A's started their league campaign with a convincing 70 run win away to Burridge.
Lewis Mitchard won the toss and chose to bat. Lewis and Ed Ruff got us off to a good start with a 48 run opening partnership before Ed was caught off the bowling of former Sarisbury stalwart Jack Slaughter for 19. Lewis and Dom Davis then put on a further 27 before Lewis was out caught for 21. This brought Henry Barker to the wicket. With a solid foundation in place Dom and Henry aggresively set about the Burridge bowling. Dom was eventually bowled for 36 and shortly before the end of the innings Henry was caught bringing an end to his bludgeoning 36, including 3 sixes. With Billy Taylor 7 not out we finished our 20 overs on an excellent 161-4 (including an incredible 27 wides).
The Burridge openers started brightly, but once Lewis Heathorn got the first wicket the others fell steadily. Burridge were eventually bowled out for 91. The bowling honours going to Lewis Heathorn, Sam Bird and Emi Horton-Torres with 2 wickets each and George Kimber-Sweatman with 1.
This was an excellent all round team performance, which should give the lads a lot of confidence as we move onto our next game. Well done!
Dave Mitchard
