Match Report
Having won the toss and decided to bat, Sarisbury B made steady progress and both Colin and Matt retired in the 6th over, with the score on 54. This shows the accuracy of the St Georges bowling, which eventually was the deciding factor in the match. Keith went in at 3 and Robbo at 4 and the score continued to grow but was restricted by the tight bowling. Robbo went LBW and Les then struck a few lusty blows, and when Martin Lander went cheaply Colin rejoined the fray with 2 overs to go, Keith then retired and Matt continued his innings, and with some sharp running, (which showed how we should've batted throughout), got the innings to a respectable 133.
When St Georges started batting they made short work of the total, being particularly severe on Martin Lander, whose 3 overs went for 43, and being assisted by 42 wides, they reached their target with 7 balls to spare. If we had bowled tighter we had a real chance of victory but must work on this for our next match.
