Match Report

A superb performance by the Sharks saw them thrash Burridge by 77 runs. It was a crushing win with the whole team contributing.

Sharks batted first and the openers were helped to a flying start by a mass of wides in the first few overs. Colin and Sam Fre. ran superbly as well as striking the ball really well. Colin retired quickly but the two Sams kept the scoring rate up (58 off 4 0vers) The skipper retired next having played a steady role. Sambo was joined by Ozzy who actually hit just 7 scoring shots including 3 sixes before returning to the hutch! Then Sam Floyd retired after a really classy left handers knock, leaving Fraz and Keith, whose solitary shot was hit really well but caught by the bowler even better! Colin returned to take his total to an excellent 43 with Fraz not out as well. Burridge had contibuted 63 wides and no balls to a massive total of 194.

When Burridge batted, their problems continued as opening bowlers Keith and Floydy wouldn't let them get going at all. (50 runs off 6 overs) Keith, for once, was bowled straight out and came off with smashing figures of 1 for 14 off 3 overs! Then Skipper Sam Fre. came on and bowled 2 overs for just 12! He then wisely took himself off! It was all over bar the shouting but disappointingly, Burridge still had 3 wickets left at the end as Sharks took their collective foot off the throttle. Fraz went for plenty of runs but took a wicket from a sharp leg-side stumping by Colin while Floydy bowled 2 excellent overs but went for 17 off his third. Still a 77 run win is not a bad result and made it 3 wins by SACC teams at Fleming that evening.
