Andy Dowland's Report

This year has been a mixed bag of games and results, but I think on the whole we have all had some good day's cricket and thank you very much to all the boys that have supported me throughout the season. Oh, and to him up there for giving us a great summer!

We may not have won many games, but I think we have all enjoyed our cricket and several players now have new names i.e. The Cat, Strawberry, Sunbeam and Treacle to mention just a few.

There have been some great performances once again this year, Oz with two innings of 90 plus and Sam Freemantle with his first 50 in adult cricket followed by three more great innings of 50 plus. These scores may not have won the games for us, but helped to make some of them very close. Thank you Oz and Sam.

Matt Quinn and Michael Cripps have both done extremely well with their bowling and put in many good performances. It has been very encouraging to see the development of the youth in the team and this only endorses the fact that we require a Fourth Team to play League cricket on Saturdays.

I would also like to thank Oz for the help and support that he has given me both on and off the field and to my wife Elaine for scoring and doing teas on several occasions.

Dom Ducellier's Report

Yet again I am left pinching myself in disbelief that the season has only just finished. Normally I'd be writing this on tour with nothing to do but watch the rain pour down. For some reason though we seem to have been blessed with good weather right through September. Result!

Its been an up and down season on the Sunday front. A fantastic start at Gosport gave us a first League victory (a first and only League game too!) Spirits were dampened however with a crushing defeat to the above followed by a disappointing result at Havant.

Although it's nice to win results weren't a major concern this summer. I was more concerned and impressed with the development of the youngsters in my side. In particular I was impressed with David Pye's consistent performances and Peter Coulthard's hard grafting. He was rewarded with a superb 80 against Titchborne Park.

Some older boys did their jobs too. The likes of Andy Evans and Simon Orr grabbing a decent amount of runs. Even Keithy postman convinced me to let him bat and got a well deserved 50 (his first one I might add, well done Keith)
All round its been yet another thoroughly enjoyable year, lets hope it continues through to next year!

Have a good winter and take care.

Cheers
Dom
